Life is short; enjoy the great outdoors
Much hype has been made on the Nissan Navarra and For Ranger Wildtrax (3.2 liter 5 cylinder) Well theses tests on Navarra, VW Amarok and Ranger in snow trail, show them to be capable (for snow at least. We do not know about mud, rock and sand.) Well we see that they are struggling and they have to try several times. I have doubted the ability of nice and shiny pick ups for 4x4 duty.
This post did a lot of 4x4, offroading in the 1990 -2000 and had memorable experiences with TLC and Land Rover and Range Rover enthusiasts. Was familiar with Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Subaru, Nissan, CJs 2, 7, 8. YJ too. Had great times and adventures

Ford Ranger Wildtrak off road evaluation
From Car Advice by Alborz Farah, he says it is an absolute winner, good fuel economy and torquey
From Motoring com. au Costs higher than Hi Lux, is a little bit pricey. Its 5 cylinder engine is gutsy yet economical; is torquey. Read more on the Wildtrax performance. No monder, it is in high demand in the PHL when it was introduced. There was a waiting list

How does the Land Rover Disco fare vs the 3.2 L Ranger Wildtrax?
The Ranger Wildrax has 3.2 liter engine which packs 200 HP. A Wild Trax would cost about P1.6 million and Disco about 2x that amount. We do not know much about the Disco but I guess it is very very expensive and packs plenty of latest engine electronix: traction control ABS.
The Wildtrax struggle on the off road obstacle. The Disco does not. So what is the verdict? Land Rove is still the best?
But that is comparing apples and oranges. The price of a Disco is 4x than that of a Ranger. Here is the Rader Comparison
