Typhoon Yolanda (local name, intl name Haiyan) the world's strongest typhoon has made a landfall in the PHL, in Guiuan, Eastern Samar at 4:40 am. It has maximum wind of 235 km/hr and gustiness of 275 km hour. Some 10 million people are expected to be affected by the typhoon in Central and Southern PHL.
The typhoon has recently hit the island of Palau forcing evacuation in the Pacific and parts of Micronesia, destroying homes in its path
Flights, ship travel, suspension of classes have been enforced in as early as yesterday to prevent casualties.
4x4 vehicles would be useful in rescue operations even at the height of the typhoon
