It is more fun with four wheels
I researched the Isuzu D Max because it so popular these days. Here are some of the interesting tech logs on D max:
Power output: 130 kW (roughly 169 hp) and 380 nM for the 3.0 liter variant (Very small difference with the Ford Wild Trax at 148 kW and 470 nM) for the price difference) Level torque from 1,400 to 2800 rpm
Turbo: VGT (Variable Geometry turbo - this means no turbo lag and consistent turbo performance at all rpm)
Transmission from Aisin is unabashedly the same as TLC transmission
Its 4jji -tc engine is the engine it uses for its trucks
For the 4x4 variant:
1. shift on the fly capability even at l00 kph 4wd lo, 2wd lo, 4wd hi
2. start on 3rd gear (to prevent wheelspin) AT
3. Descent logic control
4. DESC (Direct Electronic Shift Control - for AT)
5. Limited slip differential
Wow!
I used to an officer (Trustee and Secretary) of the Land Rover Club of the Philippines. This site recalls and relives the past 4x4 offroading experiences. About my experience with Range Rover, Defender and the classic. Land Cruisers - series 40 and series 80. Renegade with SD 33 Nissan engine - the best. We now use for daily use a Subaru Forester. | Land Rover | Range Rover | Renegade | 4x4 | Defender 110 | Jeep | CJ2 | CJ3 | CJ8
